Like other rooms within the nursery, the Kindergarten room promotes child-led learning. Here we follow the interests of the child and extend their learning through all types of play including: Messy, group, independent, outdoor and problem solving.
Throughout the year we enjoy planning trips outside of the nursery which include visiting local parks, beaches, libraries and theatres. We tie these trips in with our forest school, but also allow every child the opportunity to attend trips.
We also begin to prepare children for the Pre-school room by encouraging the children to help prepare their own snack using child-safe knives, and using china plates and glasses. Throughout the day you may see your child enjoy participating in group yoga sessions, learning about their ‘book of the month’ and celebrating an array of cultural activities.

Although we do have a daily routine, we use the individual routines of the children to inform how our day will flow and to make sure all of the children can partake in all the experiences and access all the activities we have provided.

I also wanted to say thank you for the visit on Monday, it was so lovely to see how well A has settled already and especially the bond and trust she has already built with the staff. the team were in their element and so natural with the children, encouraging them to join in and building their confidence. The team are brilliant and I was very impressed with their natural passion and enthusiasm with the children. It was lovely to see them bring A out of her shell and see her smiling with the team, it honestly made me so happy. - March 2022
