Healthy Mealtimes

Variety & Vitality

We value diversity of cultural and religious views towards food and are sympathetic to all dietary or allergy needs.

We are therefore happy to cater for individual dietary requirements. We have gained a ‘Healthy Pre-school Award’, which highlights our commitment to a healthy eating philosophy.

We offer a mid-morning and a mid-afternoon break, which comprises of fresh fruit and milk/water. Lunch and tea are provided daily by our in-house Nursery chef. Menus are designed on a 4 weekly cycle and are displayed in the children’s rooms. Mealtimes are sociable occasions, good table manners are expected and are the ‘norm’ at Ambourne House.

Meet Jackie

I have been working at Ambourne since June 2018. I enjoy researching new recipes and trying to produce very healthy meals for the children and staff to enjoy. I have found out so much about dietary needs, we pride ourselves at Ambourne House to meet all needs that children require now a days. I am always looking to test and try out new dishes, if you have any favourite dishes that you think children would enjoy, I extend an invitation into my kitchen to show me!

In my spare time I enjoy gardening, looking after my grandchildren one of whom attended Ambourne 12 years ago. I also enjoy travelling the world especially the Mediterranean and reading.
